Looks like they switched to Open Street Maps, which would be fine except that there's no more satellite or terrain view. I hope they come up with a solution for those.

For a lot of websites and apps, Open Street Map is probably a great alternative. But for those of us that don't follow roads (at least those that are in town), it's probably not quite ideal.
 
Yep, Google has decided to charge for map access. That's put their maps beyond the reach of many nonprofit and low-revenue websites. The "don't be evil" slogan is long gone.
