New sim set up

So my flight school was getting rid of one of their simulators. They were going to throw it in the dumpster because that's what they were told to do so i packed it up in my truck and now have a new (used) simulator. I got everything in the picture except the tv. It also has the throttle quadrant for a multi-engine. Looking forward to being able to work on my instrument procedures.

That's a sweet sim, what software does it run?

It's running the stock flight sim that comes installed. Not sure the name. Ill have to look next time I fire it up.

Did it come with a letter from the FAA ? How hard would it be to get it approved as a Training device?

It is an faa approved device. And I do have the letter. I believe they changed the reg so that you cant do that.

IIRC, the LOA was issued for the specific flight school only, it won't do you personally any good.

But the sim itself is an awesome grab. Lucky you!

I figured. But either way I can still use it for practice.
