Just finished the install of a GTN650 (replacing a GNS430), EIS, GDU700P, GMA350c, and a second GI275 on the co-pilot side. My avionics tech forgot to install a button for the Telligence voice commands but we’ll address it soon. I had the left panel pulled and repainted/placards laser etched to match the new right panel. It came out nice. I’m looking forward to logging some time this weekend testing out the new features.

I was planning on a new interior and glass this coming winter but the original paint with some corrosion spots has me jumping that job ahead of the interior niceties. I’ll have that crappy windscreen changed at the time of painting. Whoo….it really looks bad in the photo!

Yeah, no sh*t, that should be an outright 1 week ban for click-bait cruelty. You can’t just do that to us man. Just kidding a little bit.
Banning someone from posting because they didn't post? Isn't that like imprisoning someone for not paying their bills until they pay their bills?

Would definitely recommend paint before interior and windows.

Garmin just came out with rebates on installed GTNxxXi’s, EIS’s, GFCx00’s if purchasing a GDL60. I had a FlightStream 510 put in (had one in my last plane and loved it) during the upgrade. I don’t see the increased monthly costs plus install costs being worth the utilities offered by the GDL60 vs the FS510. I don’t need remote monitoring and the wireless DB updates with the 510 have been great. Any contrary opinions? I’m all ears.

Assuming I could sell the FS510 at about $1300, and $2000 in rebates, the GDL60 without add ones would be paid for. I would guess, with install costs, It would cost me less than $3,000 for a basic set up for remote database updates (no systems monitoring) plus $10 monthly fees for the subscription. I only see remote DB installs as the benefit over the FS510….no?

I'm curious what functionality the FlightStream 510 gives you that the GI-275s don't provide. All of my updates are done through the GI-275 wireless, and then propagated to my GNX-375 (and, if rumours are true and I eventually get the firmware updated, to the GNC-215). Is there a benefit I'm not seeing?

Can't speak to the GDL 60 personally, but I imagined it was aimed more towards aircraft owned by larger companies with a maintenance department and a need to easily know the status of their aircraft. My lowly Cherokee isn't nearly fancy enough to consider such a device. :D

Without a FS210/510 or a GDL60, bluetooth flight plan transfer from my EFB (I use ForeFlight) to the GTN’s is not possible. Also, I cannot push database updates from the GI275 to the GTN’s. Sucks because it seems like it should be possible.

Where do you see this?

I see rebates on equipment purchased after March 2025, but not installed equipment.

That's the one I am referring to. I purchased a GTN650xi and a GDU700p for the current upgrade that qualified at $1000 ea..

OK, not quite for installed equipment. :)
