[NA] Whiskey Drinkers

If I drink Scotch, I like the cheaper blended stuff like Cutty Sark. However, I've since discovered Irish whiskeys, and I need not go back to Scotch ever again. It has the same peat flavor as Scotch, but it is sooooo much smoother.

Hmmm.. maybe I should try some Irish whiskeys. Not all that familiar with them.

I could find a Bourbon you'd hate. Trust me. I cook with one.

Ok - I'll believe you!

Me, I don't think I've found an alcoholic beverage I don't like. Actually, I have to take that back, I can't stand vodka martinis. Love gin martinis. My old man was the exact opposite. Go figure.

Funny how that works. Not a tequila drinker, however, had a brand (the name of which escapes me) that was a light lime green in color - that was surprisingly good on the rocks. Never could find it again.

Bump it's Friday and the drink of choice tonight will be makers mark ,an hour or two of hanger flying and jokes with a good bourbon, gotta love it.

Had me some gin and tonic the other night and recomembered how much I liked it. Got some good bourbon too, though.

Any of the Single Malts with Glen in their name is fine with me, for example, Glen Grant. I was working in East Kilbride at Rolls Royce 100 years ago and some colleagues introduced me to Single Malts. Never felt anuthing else was worth sipping except maybe a Salty Dog / Greyhound on the beach in PV on a 100F day.

Cheers

Give me hell all you want, but I love an old fashioned. Pinches of raw sugar, dash of bitters, knob creek or makers mark, and a splash of water over ice.

Save the good stuff for straight.

Like all the posts ,ended the night with a Jefferson on the rocks.my theory is work hard (retired)fly hard drink hard .Two out of threes not bad.

I used to drink a blended Canadian. As my taste and disposable income changed, I went with Crown Royal. Generally straight up. A friend introduced me to Bourbon of which I managed to partake of many bottles and varieties. I visited a number of Bourbon distilleries including Maker's Mark. Dipped a couple of bottles myself like Hillary Clinton did. Then found Scotch, or better put, malted single malt.
While Scotch is the number one whisky of choice in any and all varieties, there's many other countries that make a malted whisky and many worthy of a taste. I do prefer Scotch but Wales has Pendrose, a couple of nice ones from Japan, and then there is Ireland.
Oh, and there is enough variety in Scotch whisky there really isn't any reason for any other. Single malts are better than blended or vatted but Famous Grouse beats Johnny Walker every time.
And I haven't given up on Bourbon either. There's a nice new one worth trying called Angels' Envy.

Have had angels envy got it as a gift not bad, would rate it up with bullet and Jefferson.

Single malt is an expensive hobby, but I partake from time to time.
