Final Approach
Dang time change! Messed me up this morning for the first time ever since my automatic clock did not reset due to wrong time zone setting. Grrrrr....
"Year of our lord" is a bit unpleasant to say for those of us who aren't Christian.
No, it is not hysterical, nor politically correct.Nobody has to say "Year of our lord" out loud. Just say B.C. or A.D. The abbreviations don't refer to "your" lord, simply "the" lord, referring to a man who may or may not have even existed but ended up being a character in a book which itself may or may not be purely a work of fiction. To change the term to something that deletes reference to that character, but still refers to the exact same point in time is just stupid. It's just another example of today's hysterical political correctness.
After every landing I say, "Thank you sir! May I have another?""Assume the position..."![]()
I say "brace brace brace" before every landing. It seems to get the pax a bit agitated. After every landing I say, "Thank you sir! May I have another?"
No, it is not hysterical, nor politically correct.
And if no one were trying to control what I said, why is it an issue for YOU?
I do not believe Jesus was "the Lord" and will not say so. If you don't like that, tough.
Take a real close examination on why you have an objection to other people using CE. Forced conformity is the colloquial definition of political correctness (it isn't anywhere near the original definition, but language, you know, changes).
