Anyone seen any that resist hail? I suppose hardware cloth would look like the heat pump fins after a while. Maybe a carbonfibre or.....kevlar product? Google failed me. Probably too rare an event for most locales.
Right now the S & W sides (12+ windows) are destroyed with tattered screen remains flopping in the breeze. (can you detect my excitement at having to repair them, especially knowing it might be needed again in 6 months)

There are some screens out there that are marketed as security/hurricane impact resistant screens that compliment impact resistant windows. Google "impact resistant window screens." I had looked at impact windows/screens but went with custom aluminum manual shutters instead due to cost. But there are screens that will do what you want.

hmm didn’t consider they might have security functions.... which means reduced emergency egress capability.

If I recall correctly the store bought versions take egress into consideration but at a cost.
