[NA] AirBnB rant

Hard to believe we haven't gotten together yet since you moved this way.

I'm a bit further at 1 hr 30 min drive, but I basically live at the start of the conga line. I could offer a spot to stay but I have a toddler at home so that's rarely enjoyable for guests. :)
Google search tells me that toddler goes from 1 to 3 years old. Our toddler turns four next month, so officially still qualifies. That said, had a very enjoyable morning with him today. Got up before the heat makes it unbearable to be outside.

Grandparents house is always more fun. Especially when the word "no" is nowhere in sight

Yep, he's been here 36 hours and has already gone on ATV rides, berry picking on the tractor, airplane ride, swimming, fell asleep under the stars, and we're reading his new book, Mexikid, together. Making homemade ice cream with the berries this afternoon.

Can I come over…?

Currently shopping amazon for the smallest folding chairs that I can carry in my backpack.
I'v got an old Helinox original I bought years ago. That thing is amazingly comfortable...except mine has little spike feet that like to sink into soft ground. I bought a Wolfwise knockoff of it for my son years ago, very similar but a bit heavier. Maybe even a bit better than the Helinox, but tons cheaper! There are quite a few companies making similar chairs now that are probably better.
If you get one of these types, make sure it has some sort of foot on it to help resist sinking

I have several friends doing the Airbnb thing, and they put a lot of sweat and stress equity into becoming "superhosts". I hope this unaware, greedy, dip**** loses their Airbnb and is forced to fully pony up the mortgage or sell. Like you said, sucks to suck. Being greedy over a few thousand over likely losing your retirement home. Dumb decision. At least I like to think, in spite of all evidence, that greedy a holes like this, get their due.

I think it really boils down to one thing: restrooms and showers. And I'm with her on that.
The best of all worlds is to glamp in an RV in Scholler. Restroom, shower, real bed, A/C (when you need it). It's got small of the comforts of home!

But, it still has neighbors who are pilots, campfires, and the good parts about camping.

I think we're done camping.
Meanwhile, I'm going back to camping... I haven't tent-camped at OSH since 2017. Been lucky enough to borrow friends' RVs since then, but now they've all been sold. Last year I "camped" in Far South Scholler (my house, about an hour from the grounds) but this year my 9 year old son asked to camp at the show for the whole week, so that's what we're gonna do! I'm sweating just thinking about it.

At least we have a much larger tent now (I can kinda stand up in it).

I'll be drooling on the Lightship during the show if anyone needs me.

Bryan, we're with you on the camping. Nothing against tent camping for those who like it (and that can be me in the correct time and place). I've done it at Osh before. But, we'll stick to our means of camping (no, we won't be at Osh, but if we were, this is how we'd camp there).

Sorry to hear about your poor AirBnB experience. I hope that the host gets the repercussions he deserves.
