[NA]AI detectors

I use Gemini because it is integrated in my Chrome browser which makes it easy to share my current tab and ask questions about it.

I asked Gemini if your post was produced by AI. Here's its response.

It is highly unlikely that Let'sgoflying!'s post was generated by AI.

While AI detectors are notoriously inconsistent and often produce false positives, there are several human-centric indicators in the post that suggest it is authentic:

Why it appears human:
Contextual Relevance: The user, Dave Taylor, has been a member since 2005 with over 21,000 messages. This long-standing history in a niche community (aviation) is a strong sign of a genuine human participant.

Casual Phrasing: The question "What free tools are you using..." is direct and conversational, lacking the overly formal or repetitive "filler" structures often found in AI-generated text.

Specific Intent: The post addresses a specific, current need within the thread's topic without the surface-level "fluff" typically seen when an AI tries to mimic forum engagement.

General Signs of AI Posts:
If you are looking for AI signatures in other posts, keep an eye out for:

Predictable Patterns: AI often uses a "Rule of Three" or starts paragraphs with transitional words like "In today's fast-paced world" or "So."

Lack of Personality: Human writers often have quirks, typos, or specific slang that AI tends to smooth over in favor of perfect grammar.

Generic Vibe: AI-generated posts can feel cold or "too perfect," lacking the lived experience of a pilot or long-time forum member.

Would you like me to find a list of current tools that can help you analyze other suspicious images or text for AI influence?

I suggested Turnitin (for writing), and then realized you said vids/images.

My AI detector (a mass of grey matter that I've had for 66 years) determined that the original post in this thread was most likely not AI generated.

I have family in education and they have all tried various detectors to try and keep students honest. All the detectors failed to be usefully accurate. Far too many missed AI generated content and, worse, often tagged student generated content as AI.

If it's in paint on canvas in front of me, I'll trust it. On a screen? Not so much.

That's remarkably similar to trends that cause me to suspect YouTube videos.
