My Dad had a '59 Ford F100 just like that except that it was blue and white. I learned to drive in it. Inline six and three-on-the-tree. We made lots of fishing and hunting trips in it.

But every time I come across one, it's so badly rusted that it would cost more than $18K to restore it. 66 years in road-salt country will do that. The easily-restorable ones got snapped up long ago.

My grandpa somehow obtained a '53 f100. Last year of the flathead V8. Sat in the garage for 20 years. Never saw it run. He passed, and my grandma was sick of seeing it sit. She just wanted to drive it once. So I got it all running to make it happen. Would love to do a full resto on it someday.
