It's my birthday today. (Not sure why it isn't listed on the site.) Anway, I though you'd like this exchange I had earlier:

Friend: "Happy Birthday!"
Me: (Sigh)
Friend: "What?"
Me: " I can't believe I'm 44. I'm really middle-aged!"
Friend: "Oh, you're not middle aged! The average life-span in America is like 75 or something; so that means 33 years old is middle-aged, yuk, yuk, yuk!"
Me: (SIGH!)

I stopped counting at 75.

And today, I count 75 again.

Congratulations on being another one to share today as your day of birth. ;)

Happy birthday, guys.
PS I happened to look up wikiP's definition just last week (what me, worried?) and it is rather broad:
"beyond young adulthood but before the onset of old age."

Happy Birthday, Ben.

Five stars for you to bring up your average! ;)

Edit: Hey! Where the fark did the star-rating pulldown go??!?!!?

Happy birthday, guys. You two are lucky, I have to share mine with Steingar! :)

I figure if you're going to call "halfway through life" middle age, I've got another hundred years or so to go. I've got way too much stuff to do not to live to at least 300.

I hope that puts me squarely in the middle, haha!

OK, I'm with you!

44? Shoot, I've got scars older than you! :yikes:

You shouldn't feel bad about 44. Start when the local donut shop automatically gives you the senior discount!
And middle age is best described as 10 years older than you. Remember, Jack Benny never aged beyond 39. That makes you 5 years older than me.
Happy Birthday.

And you are indeed a fortunate individual. A very merry unbirthday to the OP.

44 was so long ago I barely remember it. :D

The best definition of "middle aged" I've heard is that you take the oldest person you know and anyone between their age and your age is "middle age". Works great until you're the oldest person you know. And, no, I'm not there yet. :D

Oh, and Happy Birthday a day late.
