I just got back from a 2-1/2 day Mooney pilot proficiency course given by the Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association (MAPA) Safety Foundation. This one was held at Owensboro, KY - KOWB.
In total I got about 8 hours of classroom and 4 1/2 hours of flying. This was the first type specific training I've had since buying the plane last July, and it really opened the envelope of what this plane can do for me.
I had an excellent instructor and came away with a signed off BFR, IPC, Wings certificate and something I can send my insurance company as evidence of this proficiency work.
This was a great experience with some great people, and I heartily recommend all you Mooney drivers sign up for one of these as soon as you can. I know other type clubs have similar programs, and I'm sure they're good too.
