Moisture somewhere in PA32 trim system?

In my last couple of flights when I have climbed high enough to be at or below freezing temps, the manual trim wheel would get very difficult to move. (I don't use the electric trim) It seems to resolve when I descend back into warmer air. The only thing I can think of is that there is moisture somewhere in the system that is freezing to cause this. Any ideas on what might be causing this? (Yes, I'll talk to my A&P)
 
Ya know what....if the wrong lube is applied to the jack screw....it could freeze.;)
