I think most of us here agree that the doubleclick should not be used where a good readback is required. I certainly don't see "Cessna 1234, cleared for takeoff rwy 18" - " *click* *click* "
But if two parties have a conversation which does not require a read back, a doubleclick counts about the same as "roger". *shrug*

Or just don't say anything. Not even the double mic click since it doesn't require a read back
