mgl in certified aircraft?

having trouble finding information on this subject.
FYI: while not specific to your Blaze, there are a number of PoA threads on installing non-TSO items on TC'd aircraft that cover what you want to do and give you your options.
 
any other thoughts?
I would be installing the info 2 version that has a g meter, oat, turn coordinator, timers, voltage, etc..
Is this legal?
 
It can be done. You’ll need to work with an A&P and the FSDO to satisfy the engineering side of it to get field approval. But almost anything can be accomplished if there is a legitimate safety aspect to it. I’m assuming there is not an existing STC for it.

The engineering part is probably the most difficult. Take car racing seat belts as an example. Those still have to be lab tested to an aviation standard, even though they’ve been proven in real 200 mph car crashes. Absolute safety improvement, but until the engineering gets done on them, they might get installed on a case by case basis.
