So, has anyone paid for a McD's meal without cash? What did they have you do?

For those unaware, McDonalds says they will "charge" random customers to express "lovin" instead of pay cash for their meals.

The chance that they may ask me to do something idiotic like that is just another of many reasons I will be staying away from McDonald's for a while.

I have no desire to have to beg for my food. I am not that broke – yet.

Well McD's is doing poorly, just fired their CEO, and hired a new one who must have come from Subaru. This has to be the silliest ad campaign I've seen since new Coke. I don't eat their crappy food anyway, but no way I want to be subjected to "silly customer tricks" to get my lunch.

Yeah, It happened to me.
I had to give the guy behind me a handjob.

I didn't get any food out of the deal though.

Come to think of it, that wasn't IN a MacDonald's so much as it was in the alley behind a MacDonald's

Actually, I think maybe this was something unrelated to that ad campaign
But he called himself "Big Mac"

I have no love for McD's but the occasional binge double quarter pounders can't be avoided. One time a few years ago someone asked for lettuce on their quarter pounder.

"Would you mind putting some lettuce on my quarter pounder please?"

"Sir we don't have lettuce here."

"So what's that s**t sitting there on the counter?"

"That's for the Big Macs, sir, we can't put those on Quarter Pounders."

It ain't no Burger King, that's for sure. I suppose if that same conversation happened today, the response would be "No sir, but we will be happy to give it to you for free because you appeared to be begging for the lettuce."

Are you a fan of the comedian Robert Schimmel (sp) by any chance? That sounds like something he would say!! :D:D

Yeah, It happened to me.

You certainly must give off a "fag" vibe, to be in those precarious situations so often...:wink2:

Maybe a review of your approach with regard to complete strangers is in order...

I don't think I give off any sort of "vibe" so to speak.
And in all honesty, HE approached ME. HE was the one that was being all "faggy"

I was just sitting, minding my own business in the alley next to my "Free Handjobs" sign when he approached me.

"No" is a complete sentence. Keep in mind that if they weren't actors, every one of those people on the commercial had to sign a release.

Yes, McD's just fired their CEO, but the new guy starts March 1. Even if he started the day they announced, this ad campaign had to be in place long before he got the top spot.

I hope I'm never so broke as to have to eat at fat food restaurants like McD's. It's an emergency back up when the other choice is being hungry for hours.

On the plus side, I did get a great hand job from the guy in front of me the other day. :yesnod:

Well if it was approved by the prior CEO, now I know why McD's is doing poorly.

Well played Mac

This is the first I'm hearing of it. From the gist of what you guys are saying you can just tell them your version of Lovin' it and your meal is free? Shoot, count me in. I wonder if they'd let me add a Big Mac to my order after I find out it's free? I normally just get the All American Meal. It's like $2.50 and is a burger, fries and drink. Only once a year or so will I spring the $4 for a Mac, but man I love 'em.

As for their CEO, I don't know, that would be a tough job. You have to change things up to keep the company relevant and make it a place that the masses want to go. But the franchisees want to cut back to just the minimum core, because that's where the bulk of the profit is. And every few years the company requires them to lay out a ton of money for remodeling, etc. Somewhere there is a balance.

Just yesterday I was thinking about how people like to trash-talk fast food. But we're living on it more and more because it seems like we're always on the go. I know I am.

LMAO !!!!
Bryan, you're just a handy guy !

I got their stock at $43.00 a share a while ago. It's always paid a dividend since I've had it so I'm quite pleased.

I'm not sure you understand the concept. You have to pay for your Big Mac including two all beef patties, but the hand job is for special sauce.

Not quiet, they pick people at random and say "do XYZ" and your meal is free.
On paper it is like prostitution for food or some sick truth or dare game where you give a happy ending and get a happy meal.

I suspect it is way less x rated that I want it to be.

About 300 yards away from the local Mickey's is a nice clean neighborhood coney. I can get a better burger there for the same money.

And the thread keeps going downhill, gathering steam...

Lol, "fat food". It's no gourmet burger, but unless all you ever order at most restaurants is the "light portion", chances are there are as many calories as whatever McD's is selling. I like McD's fries, but that's about it. I haven't been to one in months, and haven't stepped inside of one in years. Unless the random free meals apply to the drive-thru, my chances of getting my quarter-pounder paid for is slim to none.

Jack in the Box has had some off the wall semi-racy commercials lately that, quite frankly, make me lose my appetite and keep me away from Jack in the Box.

Carl's too but I like Carl's too much to be bothered by them. Other people have said that dripping messes all over peoples' faces don't really do it for them even if it is on a hot chick. I agree.

I will wear out me some Jack in the Box..... That is fo sho! We don't have them in AR, but I make their stock go up when I roll down to TX.

Yup, that was not a typo...

Oh man....
Next time I am a drunk college kid.

Something about too much alcohol that makes JITB gourmet cooking.
I don't think I could eat there without an elevated BAC but when you're a poor college kid, 2 tacos for 99 cents is magical.

Since you went THERE, years ago my wife worked in a Dr.s office and over a two week period, EVERY single employee of the local jack-in-the-box came int to be treated for VD.

We never have gone back to a jack-in-the-box, anywhere.

I just ate 2fer$0.99 JITB tacos, and I can assure you, they're definitely not magical.

Well, unless you consider raining death on the plumbing "magical."

Now I know why it's a once-a-year reminder.

You have to have the right amount of alcohol in your system for it to work properly.

The booze is the 2nd half of preventing the perfect storm.

It is kind of like noise cancelling headphones.

The tacos do damage to your body on a very specific wavelength. The alcohol adjusts itself based on how much you consume. If you get the proper mixture you can offset the taco tornado that occurs in your gut.

Now if you drink too much alcohol, then keep on drinking because you don't want to remember what is going to happen if it is unbalanced in the other direction. You may need to make a 2nd taco run.

It is complicated and beautiful at the same time.

Ahhh... I see now. I didn't imbibe any alcohol before/during/after taco consumption, thus, my gut suffered a chemical imbalance and required (nearly) immediate rejection of said JITB tacos.

Must've forgot that part from my early-20's.

You're welcome.

I ate at a White Castle the other day just to say I did. Had veggie sliders. They were good too, though not as good as the ones created in the kitchens of Steinholme.

Question for all the smart people here..

Back in Fla during the 50's -60's - 70's and early 80's there was a hanburger chain called Royal Castle..... Small burgers and buns, grilled onions etc...

About mid 70'd they had a promotion where all burgers were 5 cents for one day......

Is Royal Castle and White Castle one and the same ??:dunno::dunno::dunno:

The JITB here in town, a college town, has cars lined around the block even at 1 a.m. I've never seen anything like it. I've eaten at other JITBs but never noticed anything special about them.

I had a bad case of the drunk munchies one time and used JITB as a starting point, ordering two of their biggest double cheeseburgers, something with sourdough and another with bacon. That didn't quite do it, so on the way back I stopped at McD's for a couple of double quarter pounders with cheese. That STILL didn't do it, so I ordered one more.

That's a lot of food even for me. I was feeling gnarly the next day.

Every college or college town seemingly has a place like that. For me (Rochester, NY) it was a greasy spoon called "Nick Tahou's" that grew out of a hot dog stand to an all-night grill that attracted cops, drug dealers, prostitutes, and college kids. The dish was called a "Garbage Plate", and was a paper plate filled 1/2 with macaroni salad (right out of the tub), the other half with home fries (baked beans could be subbed in or added), topped with your meat of choice: red hots - local dialect for hot dogs; white hots - local dialog for white hot dogs meant to approximate bratwurst -- hots were split lengthwise and cooked on a flat-top griddle; or 2 hamburger or cheeseburger patties. Sprinkle raw onions, squirt some yellow mustard, spoon a thin chili-like meat sauce, and add hot sauce to taste.

It's a sensory-triggered memory thing, like how smelling moth balls reminds some people of their grandmother's house. Now some time on from my college years, I'm embarrassed to say how recently it is that I've had a garbage plate.
