I've been using a cannula for years in my Mooney and each time I tell myself to look into getting a mask for the higher altitudes and O2 savings.

So finally I'm looking at the Aerox 4110-712 Series. I assume for the one without a built-in mic you put your boom mic in front of the black circle with the openings and the sound comes through.

Does this work well or do you have to speak up quite a bit?

The version with the built-in mic seems convenient but is one more step to plug the new mic in after donning the mask.

Anyone tried both and can tell me which is actually more convenient in your opinion?

Thanks

Funny, I just had the same question. Hopefully you get a response from somebody who knows something.

I had a throat mike and a full coverage mask.

It was very comfortable and never had a complaint from anyone about audio quality.

Whatever you do, try before you buy. The O2 masks in the TBM have mics, but it gets very loud in your headset when you turn them on unless you stop inhaling.
