Make the Christmas ads stop already!

Stopped into a supermarket this morning ,and they are selling Christmas candy already.

My radio station has already started with the music too..... Thanks Jack FM. You used to be cool, now you suck.

Sam's Club here had Xmas stuff up for sale in August.

August!

My wife wonders why I can't stand Christmas anymore. It's because it never, ever, EVER effing stops! It's "Christmas" for six months now...

I know the pain. Working for Coke as a frontline employee in stores 10 hours a day. Seeing christmas stuff from the middle of october hearing the same damn loop of christmas songs each hour. Its enough to make you ****ed off when someone calls you a Grinch cause you don't enjoy christmas. One of my walmarts has this cheap Glade candle video loop every minute now imagine hearing that for 6 hours with the 87th version of white christmas playing overhead. If it wasn't for my wife I wouldn't even acknowledge christmas.

I love my DVR, I don't watch commercials anymore. If I was stuck in a jail cell with the inventor of that device I would gladly give him a Bangkok Milkshake whenever he wanted.

The Hallmark Channel had Christmas movies on this past weekend. And there is a local radio station in Milwaukee that plays Christmas music 24/7 this time of year and I think they just started doing that on Sunday.

The problem I have with all holidays is that the have become so consumer oriented. That's why there are so many ads. They are attempting to get you to buy gifts and other stuff you might not buy otherwise. After I became an adult I gradually opted out.

I sense a distinct lack of patriotism in this thread. Over 70% of our economic activity is consumer spending. The business of America is selling cheap crap to the masses. Only a freedom-hating, left wing socialist would complain about Christmas advertising/music/programming three months before the actual holiday. ;)

:D :D

True. Many people would be out of work and whole industries would collapse if it were not for holiday consumerism.

I share your pain and I too started hating Christmas for this very reason. Wife is not allowed to talk Christmas to me before mid-December. And the only Xmas music I approve of is from Gary Hoey's guitar.

Same reason, btw, why we hate Valentine's Day as well, just Hallmark greed milking the dumb cash cow crowd.

Then color me red, Fred. :D
I want to live a free life, not be told what I must buy because I deserve it. But then, I guess, I live in the wrong country. ;)

Xmas is cancelled this year...

I just got the black Friday weekend ads from Meijer here in the midwest in my email. Ack!

Here too! And what's worse is that they reduce the size of the beer aisle to make room for the Christmas tree display! Sacrilege!

You think you got it bad? Try not being Christian.

Are you asserting that Christmas has something to do with Christianity? Absurd!

;)
