As far as I can tell, no such animal exists for a TCM? Anyone aware?

I am guessing the clearance between the bottom of the oil pan and the crank is too close anyway, unless the magnet is recessed?

Look at the airframe docs. I've seen engine oil magnetic chip plugs (not drain plugs) installed on Cessna 100 series.

The 0-200 has a kidney shaped tank, which most owners drop a cow magnet into.
The 0-300 has about 5-6" below the crank & cam so there is no problem there.
the 0-470 and up not so much but still plenty of Room for a sump plug type magnet.
many owners are now buying the magnetic cuff that goes around the oil filter.
and some filters have a built in magnet.
