Bad enough that we lost the Iron Lady this AM, but we also lost Annette Funichello, too. Fortunately Ginger and Maryann are still with us...

Age 70. That isn't all that much older than me. RIP.

It is quite sad to see the devistating effects MS had on her. RIP :(

On anybody. RIP.

It's very hard to watch someone you love fighting this terrible disease and there is nothing you can do about it . At least about 90% suffer from relapsing MS which isn't nearly as bad as progressive MS .

I have a friend who has relapsing-remitting. It has progressed over the last 10 years to be a real impediment on their life. The drugs have had limited effect, and it's really easy for one to get depressed. The impact on family can be bad, too, especially since it means curtailing things that they used to do together.

Insidious disease, and one for which I hope a cure can be found.

I shared this on Facebook the other day, maybe some of you will find it amusing:

As a little boy I loved her black and white likeness as I watched her every chance I could on our little 15 inch TV with the rabbit ears. Blissfully unaware that in reality she was a year older than my mother and had been filmed in these episodes years before, I loved her in a way that only a seven year old boy could. Then came 1977 - January to be precise - and the New Mickey Mouse Club. Suddenly my love had been transformed into a woman in her mid-thirties wearing polyester and wide collars, playing a mother-like figure to Corey Feldman's sister and that girl from Facts of Life and all those other impostors. I cried and cried. Time stands still for no one.
