Hi all.

We have a 172M with a Marvel Schebler MA-4SPA carburetor, with an engine manufacturer part number of LW-13659-70. Can someone tell me what the -70 part of the part number indicates?

You'll need to contact Lycoming tech support for that info, but typically it is to indicate a minor modification. However, since that carb core number (13659) has been superseded per the latest bulletin, the -70 may no longer be applicable.

Thank you for that. I did end up contacting them. Their response is that -70 indicates the part was overhauled, -85 indicates the part was rebuilt, and no suffix would indicate new.
