40’s? 60’s?
Civilian airplane ‘lands’ smoothly during cruise (cfit) atop flat, snow covered mountain during whiteout conditions wrecking plane but occupants fine.
Maybe husband & wife?

"Island in the Sky" by Earnest Gann is somewhat of a match, other than it's an all-male civilian crew in a C-47. Good movie with John Wayne, too....

There is a safety film shown in Alaska where a guy is flying a C-310. He can't see anything due to white out conditions, but mentions how rough the ride is, when it becomes a silky smooth ride. He is talking about not being able to see anything, when a guy walks up and knocks on the window yelling...''Hey buddy, you ok.??'' Then walks off muttering something about pilots....

Island in The Sky was loosely based on an actual event chronicled in Gann’s nonfiction Fate Is The Hunter (in the real event it was a Convair C-87, and all aboard were rescued - no fatalities).

Also in Fate Is The Hunter, Gann mentions a PBY Catalina flying softly and safely - almost unnoticed by the crew - into the Greenland icecap.
