Greetings!

I need the wheel pants for my Cherokee 140 refurbished. Would anyone care to recommend a fiberglass shop? I'm based at KTTA (Raleigh, NC) but I'm willing to ship them anywhere within the US.

Thanks!

You may want to check local body shops (car, boat, etc.). Any shop that does fiberglass can to the work and paint. Look for a shop that works on Corvettes.

What to you mean by "refurbished?" If its just a prep and paint you can perform/sign-off that under preventive maintenance so long as the before/after weight doesn't change more than 1 pound.

What about finding good used ones and repainting them?
Are they fiberglass or plastic?
They're fiberglass. Finding a good used set would be fine too. I'll go wander around the usual sites to see what I can find.

New England Aero Services in Danielson CT does excellent fiberglass work. They repair many fiberglass aircraft and components.

When I was about 12-13 years old I helped a older neighbor( he was about 18-20 years old) with his 63 split window corvette. It was then I learned what fiberglass resin smelled like and how he mixed it up.
I also remember the smell of lacquer paint and him rubbing it out. I spent many days across the street from my house helping him work on the vette paint job.

I have used fiberglass resin to repair all kinds of things over the years.

Fixing your wheel pants is owner preventative maintenance under Part 43 Appendix A:

(12) Making small simple repairs to fairings, nonstructural cover plates, cowlings, and small patches and reinforcements not changing the contour so as to interfere with proper air flow.

What did you find?

Glass work aint hard. Tedious and itchy. But it's not hard.

check boat repair shops.... depending where you are, they have a lot of free time in winter.

The plane Salon in California does that daily but it’s a little far….

Try local EAA chapter or local glider clubs.
