Logging ATD or FTD Sim Tim on IACRA?

If a student receives simulator time from a Redbird SD (an AATD), which column on the IACRA 8710 form would the student log it in? The FTD or ATD column?

It seems that the IACRA form is still outdated and does not reflect the 2008 changes that occurred when the FAA split ATDs into two sub-category (AATDs and BATDs). I read somewhere that sims that were formerly classified as low-level FTDs (FTD levels 1-3) are now classified as AATDs which is what many Redbird simulators are considered as.

They are not necessarily trying to meet any specific time requirements for a pilot certificate/rating since they already have enough hours (aeronautical experience) in an actual airplane. They just logged a few hours of sim time in their logbook from a revaluation in a Redbird simulator for a failed Part 141 stage check flight.

But otherwise, pretty much by definition, I'd say a BATD and an AATD are still ATDs and not FTDs,

FTDs are regulated under 14 CFR part 60, which the Redbird is not. ATDs are regulated by 14 CFR part 61, which is what the Redbird is approved under. The ATD category is most appropriate for the Redbird.
