LAS night flight suggestions

I'm going to be in Vegas for a business trip and I need to knock out some night time for my private.

Im going to rent a cirrus and I want to be up 3 hours.

The question for pilots in that area, where is a fun destination about 1.5 out of LAS?

You’re not a Private Pilot yet and someone is renting you a Cirrus?

I assumed he meant with an instructor to meet the PP night requirements. And lots of Private instruction happens in Cirri these days.

To the OP, if my guess is correct, then you really need to discuss it with the instructor. Yes you need 3 hours at night, but flying somewhere 1.5 hours away and flying back doesn't accomplish all the valuable training items that I like to accomplish on student pilot night flights.

So there I was… turns out Vegas is a nice 1.0 from San Diego in a S-3. Burning hours after deployment.

About my 4 th or 5th one I asked for a touch and go at Vegas instead of the Air Force base, figured it would be cool to see the lights of the strip.

“Denied, say next request…”

Geesh… seems kinda peeved…

“Hearing nothing, why don’t you turn left, start climbing and contact your last controller, BUB BYE!!!”

***** slapped right on the radio.

So can’t really tell ya where to go, but touch and gos to see the lights used to be quite frowned upon!!

Takeoff - Kingman (KIGM) - Havasu (KHII) - Bullhead City (KIFP) - Land.

I’m guessing you’ll rent from Henderson (KHND). If North Las Vegas (KVGT) maybe Mesquite and St George but there’s some terrain in that direction that I would prefer that route during daylight even with a chute.

If daytime I’d fly the Grand Canyon Corridors.
