Lance Armstrong To Admit Doping On Oprah

What would he be criminally prosecuted for, lying? We all might be in trouble on that one.

Fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, perjury, slandering those who tried to out him years ago, and for being a big bully jerk. :D

The guy is completely stripped of all titles, discredited, disgraced, soon to be broke (massive civil actions), banned for life, and even had to leave the charity he founded. Isn't that enough for some B.S. over a bicycle race?

I wonder if prosecutors sat down with all of the other teams and threatened long jail terms if they didn't talk, how many others would be in the same place? I suspect most all of them.

Not to get political, but if you want outrage over a lack of criminal prosecution look at the mortgage crisis.

I guess for some people any attention is good attention.

And he sued others for defamation and won. Unbelievable.

They need to turn the tables on ol Lance......

While the United States Postal Service sponsored him over a few years... they paid him tens of millions of dollars......:mad2:

As a taxpayer............ I want my money back...:yes:

Ok find me a professional rider that competes at that level that doesn't dope. They ALL do it. You should eliminate all IOC cycling if you're going to ban Lance.

Lance earned his titles fair and square. It was a level playing field. I wouldn't want to be the guy in second place that gets his "titles". I wouldn't accept them.

Professional cycling has had a decade and half of controversy over doping... like every other professional sport did or does. I think it is more reflective of our problems in society. Where did people's integrity go?

And Sac is right, they were all doing it at different levels. It was just that Lance figured out a way to not get caught while others did. Anyone who rides and watched the Tour de France that Floyd Landis didn't win, would know that something was going on. You just don't completely collapse the day before and blow your competition away the next day (even if he slept in a Holiday Inn).

If we can't fix the integrity problem, I wish they would just open an "unlimited" class in the sport. :)

Doping goes back more then 15 years, closer to 50 years. And yes an unlimited class is the only honest way. Might actually be healthier if they are making dope choices on performance and not performance and cheating.

Good points. I think the only thing Lance is really guilty of is being a First Class A-hole and he is reaping what he sowed.

Yeah, he just shattered the world record Marathon time, no wait, that was his heart exploding.... The unlimited class is just around the corner, should be interesting.

Can you imagine what those "creatures" would look like,,,:hairraise::yikes::eek:

I'd paid to see that! Heck, it might even make for a new class of the sport. They could call it "Roid Cycling". And throw in full contact to boot. Most of us who watch these races are looking for the crashes anyways (go on admit it!).

I have to agree, who gives a fat rat's rear end about some guy juicing for a stinking bicycle race? :dunno:
On the good side, he did raise millions for cancer research! :D
He did what many men have done when confronted, lie, lie, lie, blame, blame, blame, sue, sue, sue..............................OK I guess I did it. :mad2:

Wow! I guess if all the other folks are doing it, must be O.K. Think the last time I used that was in H.S.
Best,

Dave

I don't really care but I don't really understand why people get so into sports in the first place let alone get so competitive they'll risk their health that way.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of these things are fun to do. Fun games to do with a few friends on the weekend or after work or something. I don't understand professional sports or people's obsession with them at all though.

Stealing, lying under oath, and witness intimidation is okay with you? Wait, never mind your in Iowa.
You really know how to answer a yes/no question, don't you? Wait, never mind, you're in Nebraska. Lighten up Larry, I just asked a question. Can you ever answer a question without getting defensive? No, I don't think that stealing, lying under oath, and witness intimidation is OK. Did he do all of that? If he did he should be prosecuted. How is that? OK with you?:mad2:

Geico buys pre-wadded skivvies so he doesn't have to go to the trouble of doing it himself.

In my mind its more about the deceit than the act. Whether it was fair in terms of drug use population consistency, he's still a liar...probably overly moralistic, but I just can't support people with integrity violations.

What difference does it REALLY make what He did or didn't do? There are homeless people without jobs and kids going hungry for crying out load! Let it go!

Unless you live in Iowa or your first name is Wayne stealing, lying under oath, intimidating witnesses is illegal and should be criminaly prosecuted. Why does he get a pass?

Ethics means something, telling the truth means something, playing by the rules means something.

We live in a country governed by law.
We live in a country were there is equal protection under the law.
We live is a country were no one is above the law.

Yet, some "pilots" here don't know or care about it. They would rather mount personal attacks than debate the issue.

But if we didn't go after Bush/Cheney for a bogas purpose for a war.......

I know you are right my Nebraska neighbor. I just cannot muster enough motivation to really care at all. They guy had cancer, he is an ass, karma finds you. Its not worth my attention.

Probably also is apparent that I am no huge sports fan so I can't say he let me down.

FWIW, I don't really care that he cheated. He's running a sport that no one really cares about. Put a ball, or some actual skill in the "sport" and we'll talk.

But - the day he chose to sue and win money from others who outed him for something he actually did is the day I start caring when he later admits he did something wrong. He should now be culpable to pay back every dollar he stole from those people now.

And maybe he can start over fresh in a real sport.

edit: Note - I learned to ride a bike when I was 5 or 6.

The guy is a crook...

Someone get the pitch forks and torches, we're headed to Austin for some justice!

I raced amateur locally and regionally in my 20's. Long distance stuff mostly. No, the wheels were the same size.

I followed racing, I admired the guys at that level. Believe it or not cheating never even occurred to me, then again it was a hobby and exercise for me.

It just ****es me off that Armstrong stole all those years from guys who were not cheating.

Wayne would have been driving the sag wagon.

Okay. Lance cheated winning the Tour de France, so lets give it to the second place finishers, oh wait, he cheated too. Third place? Oops, him too. Excuse me sir whose name I don't even know, I know you came in 129th, but congratulations, here's your medal.
