KX-165 - Is the Upgrade Worth It?

I would like to learn more about the reliability of the KX-165 compared to the venerable KX-170. Is the 165 worth it or should I save up a little more (maybe a lot more) and look for an SL-30? Feedback much appreciated!

I would go SL30. I have one coming out this week. I think it’s the best Nav/Com ever made, and it is still supported.

Honestly, do you use the VOR/ILS?

Why go with any radio that is not manufactured any more. The 165 is dead old and almost unfixable, the gas display is not available anymore. The sl30 Is a great radio, but has not been made in years, when will the parts supply dry up on it? with garmins repair policy when they say done its done.

Go with a 255, a Val, Becker or something that is still being made, even if you go used.
