Some FSDOs are better than others. I love mine. They actually go out of the way to be helpful which is more than I can say for my former one.
Years ago, I asked for a ferry permit and they walked me through the process and told me it was good for ten days, but if I didn't get the plane moved, they'd just renew it for me. I still had the guy's phone number in my phone when I was out in Nebraska putting my plane back together after the engine replacement. I could find everything BUT the airworthiness certificate. I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I texted the guy I dealt with before. By 9AM the next morning, I had had a PDF of my new airworthiness certificate. "Is this a temporary?" I ask him. Nope, it's a PDF of the permanent. Now, I will never be without one.
