KODO Odessa Tx 2/1/2026 runway collision Non fatal

"The FAA reported that the Bonanza was attempted a go-around from runway 11 immediately after touching down and one of the landing gear struck the windshield of the Cherokee which just taxied onto the runway."

Ouch! That's not a near miss ...

Got it all figured out. It's a combination of one or more of the following:

1. Somebody wasn't talking.
2. Somebody wasn't listening.
3. Somebody wasn't looking.

Glad nobody was seriously hurt. The Cherokee pilot needs to buy a lottery ticket.

Nah. He needs a 44709 ride as a "wake up and pay attention, son"...sorta deal.

Sounds like kudos to the Bonanza pilot for paying attention to ground traffic.

Well, if the Bonanza pilot would have retracted the gear sooner maybe the poor Piper pilot would still have a windshield ...

I agree, a 709 ride is in order, but as a 'wake up and pay attention' tool, the gear through the windscreen thing will leave a more lasting impression.

Wow could have had a tragic ending ,luck was definitely on the pilots side.

That landing gear must have exploded through the window, inches from someone’s face

Not only the windshield but the seat will need to be replaced ...

Seriously, it is the Grace of God that someone wasn't killed in this accident.

Just landed here yesterday and no one talks. There are 3 intersecting runways and people were landing on 2 of them!
