Just started my ifr training today. Finished my ppl in December and decided to keep going and get this done also. My instructor said it will make me a better/ safer pilot.
Love flying so far! Took wife on a night flight and gave the kids a Christmas ride around the area.

I trust that your CFII will use a syllabus. Be sure that s/he devotes the first few hours to learning "the numbers" for the airplane you will be training in and emphasizes basic attitude instrument flight before getting into electronic navigation. Without a firm foundation, your path to the rating will be longer and more expensive (although the two go together, right?).

It's a tough rating, but well worth the effort.

Was the most usefull rating for the flying I do. Havnt missed sun and fun since I got the rating ,as I was flying from Boston every year.

Enjoy the journey, Jason. The IR is difficult. Just hang in there and you will get it done.
