From Connecticut, happy to be here and learning with the rest of you. I solo'd last week for the 2nd time in my life. Took a short, 36 years break from flying... and always dreamed of buying a plane and getting back into the world's greatest way to spend time... when I retired. So I took the plunge, got my tailwheel endorsement in a Cub, transitioned into a Light Sport and recently took delivery of a new Flight Design CTLSi... love the plane, having a blast. I practically grew up at Plymouth MA airport in the 70's... and forgot how fabulous human beings most pilots are.

I will try to contribute as much as I take. Thank you for having this great forum available. Andrew

Ok, here you go... have you ever seen a more handsome pilot? ; )... putting it away after a Transition training flight. Plane is at the Dealer's shop getting a 25 hours check this week. Naturally, today was perfect flying weather... bummer !

Congrats! Welcome back to aviation, and welcome to the "light and sporty" contingent here on POA! Nice looking CT! Don't forget to check in with the CT Flier forums as they arrange an annual Page, AZ fly-in toward the end of every year.

Thanks all... wow... so many posts and so quickly... Brad, actually Connecticut is an awesome place to fly... the coast is incredibly beautiful and not too far away are rolling green hills, lots of well maintained airports and some very cool destinations such as Fishers Island, Block Island, Martha's Vineyard... my all time favorite is "Goodspeed" airport in East Haddam CT... I learned how to fly the Cub there in the grass. I hear you cgrab about the money thing. But, for the first time in my cheap life I am going to write checks and in my brain file them away under "mental health" investments. rtk11, I would like to fly to Page, but... I have a Dynon system to learn, need to get over my ATC fears and oh yes, I am still a little flaky on the cross wind landing thing. I have a stretch goal of getting to Oshkosh and back this year. I am on it !

Yup, Chester is challenging wind-wise, but, being there will make me a better pilot. Not only the winds, but the quality of the Pilots on the field. After the CFI solo'd me, Landing Practice #1 was dreadful, Landing Practice #2, the next day... was awesome. The lines crossed.

Ha... it smells like any other plane, except there is a stronger odor of money burning... fortunately, as other LSA folks know, the operating costs are much less so, there is a trade off. Can't say enough good things about the performance and handling. Looking forward to legit travel, with the understanding that the VFR weather realities are always there. Fortunately, I like seeing the USA.

    C'mon in, the water's fine.

I really like the CTLSi. I hope you have many years of fun in it, they appear to be a great aircraft.
