Yea, that's tough. Been there myself. I finally gave up and focused on attending fly ins. Ok, mostly eaa, but we have some young members in a couple of the local chapters.

Only problem: I developed a liking for older aircraft...

Go have some fun. Fly if you can.

Welcome back to this costly hobby/lifestyle. I just returned myself after a 12 year hiatus. Had 47.7 hrs logged back then, took me 1.8 hrs with an instructor before getting signed off to solo once again. I guess it is like riding a really fast expensive bike.
