Ok, just got the word today. I'm not as eloquent as our mechanic, so I'll use his words:

The carburetor attachment bolts had come loose, loose enough that there was a tiny gap between the carburetor and the engine, allowing air leakage and messing up the mixture.

Anyways - problem solved. Now we need a new DG and she'll be good as new!

Glad you got it fixed and can fly again. Maybe the guy from the North Pole will bring you a new DG.

I've been to the north pole (AK :D) and the only aircraft parts were ones from planes that did not make the runway!
