And I finally got my hands on the 172 in the middle of the afternoon. Others had the same idea.
Blasted off out of OLM and flew down to Mt. St. Helens. Took some pictures there and on the way, plus some of TDO as I passed by on my way to CLS. Shot some T&Gs, landed for gas (it's about 30 cents a gallon less than at OLM - "only" $3.59/gal) and headed for home. While doing my run-ups to leave CLS there was a Citabria coming in, so I waited. Made my departure call and the pilot came back asking if I was "Ghery". My CFII in his toy. He left CLS shortly after I did and flew back to OLM. I wasn't watching, but it looked suspicioulsy like him in the right seat of an R-22 that was leaving the FBO next to our hangar. Giving rotor lessons, I guess. He's an IP in Chinooks, so seeing him in an R-22 wasn't all that surprising.
Just another beautiful day in God's Country. I'm sure glad to have my medical back.
