My Jerk threads are conceived and presented in a manner designed by me to provoke discussion. This is, after all, a discussion forum.

But every time I post one instead of discussion it's just an avalanche of how I'm an idiot, I'm a jerk, I'm mental, I should have my medical revoked, and the biggest cutdown an aviation forum can offer often comes out...I'm not fit to fly.

Why do they become personal against me? Honestly, I've never made one that attacked anyone or any group. They just posit situations and ask a question...is one of the people in the story a jerk?

How does a ton of angst against me always develop?

I've not felt that way.

Usually when people pick on you it is because they are jealous or have a crush on you.

I like you. Or at least your online presence here on POA.

Edit: You should exclude spin zone threads from your research. Everyone is a jerk in the spinzone.

Edit 2: For the record, I don't have a crush on you.

I dunno. I don't think you're a jerk, though.

Rich

Because you always end up changing "facts" partway through your stories.

Like the last one you said you were T-boned, then said you weren't hit. Be consistent.

There are very few people on POA that are immune from personal attack. You and I aren't one of them.

I like to pick at people for sharts and gargles. I don't think you are a jerk, just misinformed as to traffic laws. Also, I post from my phone, and it doesn't like adding smilies for some reason. Maybe I'm just a leaky rectum? I don't know or care, so I guess I am.

Because if you make people think they confused and then they get angry.

+1....

I don't think you're a jerk. May not agree with you on things, that alone doesn't make you a jerk. Lots of folks here I'd like to meet and have dinner with.

When it comes to jerks, you're in the minor leagues here. The major leagues? Well, that's best left unsaid!

Bleedover from the SZ in large part as far as I've observed.

Reason #258 why I don't go there. But it's really easy to tell who does without even looking at their profile. The hostilities definitely bleed over into the "normal" forums.

Can you provide a standard of comparison? Need some measure of "jerkiness"??

Gary

In the SZ I vehemently disagree with a lot of folks. But I leave that all in the SZ, and so do a lot of other folks. My jet ski thread was evidence of that. DocMirror and PaulS -- both SZ denizens -- gave an incredible amount of help, even though I have had very heated disagreements with both of them over in the SZ. But I appreciate both of them and consider them fellow pilots who I hope to meet someday, and I try to remember that a snapshot of an individual's political views based on some forum posts is not an acceptable evaluation of the whole.

Some people are not as successful leaving their angst in the SZ, and a few others don't even try.

Yes.

Moral of the story: never ask a question you don't want to hear the answer to. :D

(I actually don't have an opinion one way or the other as I don't read your threads)

Because you're a JERK!

:D It's the internet. If you were really a jerk you wouldn't bother asking the question.

Naw, he's just looking for someone to tell him that he isn't a jerk. He just wants attention and support from anyone.

This thread is going to end up in the SZ. Then its gonna get bad.

Wrong... you're posting on the internet, you're guilty of being a jerk until proven otherwise. And if you make one statement confirming that you are a jerk, there is no way to ever clear your name. :)

Don't know the answer to that question, but I do think you are a "Legend in your own mind" !

Cheers

Heh.

We're all jerks at one time or another.

On occasion, you can be a bit more ... direct ... than I personally think is appropriate. But that's me, and while you should strive at all times to ensure that your behavior meets, in all material respects, the Spike Standard, perfection is but a goal, one never attained but merely striven for.

And (by the way) I think Bryan does so have a crush on you. ;-)
