Did an IPC in my Mooney today just because I wanted to. Went with an instructor who's also a friend, and told him to make me work. It was light rain here but VMC. I filed IFR for a round robin from home field to PDK (a very busy controlled field), FTY (also controlled ) and back home to KCVC. Did two approaches at each field, one coupled and one hand flown. Had various equipment "failures" , distractions and other stuff. These airports aren't far apart, so there wasn't much time to relax.
I made some errors here and there as expected, but it was a good workout. In the real world visual approaches are much more common than full procedures so this really got the cobwebs out. Two hours on the plane and an IPC endorsement in the logbook.
