Inserting Tables

Any way to insert text tables? E.g., not as a graphic but as a text table. This sort of thing works on other sites, but not here. I've tried it as inserted code, with and without the HTML flags and with <> </> instead of [] and [/].

BB Code, used by boards like this, is only a very, very small subset of HTML that is implemented to varying degrees. Although it does have code for tables, not every site wants to support all of it. I've seen sites that use bold and italic, but not underline.
