Hello, I'd like to ask help contacting Ottosen Prop. I purchased a prop overhaul kit from them, which arrived without a Form 8130. I've tried multiple times to contact them over phone, over email, even through their website chat, and it's been impossible. Any tips?
Thanks! Alberto

Why then you will not get an 8120. Why? Becuase they did not to the overhaul!

Plane is not in the US. The shop doing the overhaul asked me if the Form was included. I did not request the Form, and as mentioned earlier, it's been impossible to get in contact with Ottosen. To be honest, this is my first plane so still learning. A quick search online, it says a Form 8130 is a "a document used in the global aviation system to verify that aircraft parts and components are airworthy and safe for operation" so (in my mind) it makes sense that the Form 8130 would come from the manufacturer of the parts.

The reason I purchased the kit personally, is that the shop quoted me almost 100% more than if I purchased the parts directly through Ottosen.

Except the 8130 is not required for domestic US sales and a number of venders will only include it if requested and sometimes will charge extra for it. So if you ordered the kit online with no interaction with the sales staff then there would be no trigger to include one.

As to why you can't connect with Ottosen I have no idea. Perhaps if the parts are still in their original packaging, maybe contact Hartzell for a solution? However, in general, once parts or components leave the control of the provider it can be difficult to get additional documentation after the fact.

Regardless, while purchasing maintenance parts can help control costs it might help next time to research more why there is such a cost difference or coordinate with your maintenance provider for any requirements they may have for the use of those owner purchased parts. Its no different here in the States as well.

Yes, indeed the Form 8130 wasn't included but also never given as an option as others vendors do (ex: W/Form 8130 + $200).

My main concern is my inability to contact Ottosen. They don't answer the phone number on their website, they dont answer my emails, and they dont respond on their website chatbot either. I would imagine if they're busy, they would sometimes not answer the phone. But this has been going on for a month now. My only solution at the moment is to ask someone to go directly to their shop...

And regarding the ovh. shop. This shop has a reputation for doing great work, but also for price gouging on parts to have a better hourly shop rate... They were charging me over for international $500 shipping for something that cost me $30. I guess some wealthy clients just dont take a look at the invoices and pay blindly.

Does the overhaul kit packaging or kit inventory sheet have Hartzell or Ottosen on it?
If it has Hartzell then you'll need them to issue the 8130.
If its been a month I'd contact Hartzell if they supplied the kit to Ottosen.

Emailed Hartzell last night requesting the information. Will update here when I can.
Still impossible to contact anyone at Ottosen... Does anyone have a direct contact there? A name? Another phone number?
