Even if you break a civil statute, you're doing something "illegal." Or is speeding legal? :goofy:

Traffic laws are criminal statutes.

There are some aspects of piracy that have bought and paid for criminal law like large scale counterfeiting and smuggling of goods but copyright violations are civil matters.

The "intellectual rights holders" want you to think they can put you in jail.

Some traffic laws are criminal, some are administrative/civil.
 
To be clear I wasn't actually advocating copyright violation, just trying to make a little joke, m'kay?

Also, henning, God loves ya, as my granny would have said.

Finally, the restrictions on fair use, particularly in re DMCA and "copy protection systems" are so over broad and absurd as to be unenforceable.
