Ignoring Members

I just had a thought about unintended consequences of ignoring someone and though I'd share my therory.

A friend once suggested to me that some people feel the need to share their thoughts because they have so few. It seems to be that a thought is such a rare occurrance that they feel an overwelming need to blurt it to the world. Dunno if it's true but it's something to keep in mind...

Every single post on the forum is someone 'sharing a thought'.

Unfortunately that would mean that the volumes of writings by Generals, Politicians, and tons of famous people of the past would fall under that rule also, as would most engineering drawings and schematics as well as system's descriptions, so I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with that theory. ;)

Close the libraries. They were just needy people who had to share their simple thoughts. :) :) :)

Nate, Nate, Nate, please note the use of the words "some people."

Next up is the discussion of how to identify those people. :D

Guess you have it all figured out. Sorry I said anything.

I have not ignored anyone but I would not be surprised if a bunch don't have me on ignore. In person I am a great guy:wink2:

Ahhh! Anyone who's blocked, of course! ;)

It's like Survivor. We get to vote people off the island, right? ;)

How very egaltarian of you. I tend to be autocratic or at least elitist if I can't get aware with the former.

Why do I suppose? Because people have said as much.

I didn't ask how you knew. I asked why it was happening. What do YOU think it is that you do to cause people to want to ignore you.

I don't remember ever putting anyone here on my ignore list. There are some members, or more specifically some posts I've managed to ignore simply by not paying attention to them. And as near as I can tell, the act of engaging the ignore function and to an even greater extent announcing or threatening said act is a kind of passive-aggressive attack on the ignoree.
