Hey folks -

I'm hoping someone can clarify for me, or help me understand the generally accepted requirements for instrument ground instructor privileges. I've got my FOI, AGI, FIA, FII knowledge tests completed. According to part 61.213, the instrument ground instructor must pass a knowledge test on the "aeronautical knowledge areas in... 61.65" (which is the knowledge areas under pilot instrument rating section).

So I would consider the FII test to very thoroughly cover this particular requirement, but something tells me I would still have to take the IGI test to get instrument ground instructor privileges?... Is this true? Or can I get my ground instructor rating with instrument ground instructor privileges with my FII test?

Thanks
