    Hello Aviators,
I signed up for a flight school this week and the cfi took my information and a copy of my passport to put in IACRA. Should i be getting a confirmation that it was entered into IACRA?

No. But I'd log into my IACRA account just to make double sure my address was correct.

.... and copy down your account username and email plus the FTN number.

you will be needing and using those for written and practical tests from now until the FAA zombie apocalypse

Something else regarding official interactions with anything to do with FAA documents (medicals, tests, IACRA, etc.)

Make double damn sure your legal name and permanent address are the same everywhere and correct.

During this past week at the Thrust Flight CFI-A Academy, I heard a few tales-of-woe from folks who didn't have it match and the troubles it caused as they progressed up the ranks.

Wise words. My CFI ran into a snag when he headed off to his airline job. There was a minor tweak - a extra space, an extra letter in his middle name or something like that - in his passport. He'd used it for years. But that was enough to kick out the paper work, and he had to get an emergency passport renewal/correction or they would have rescinded his job offer.

If you ever move, make sure you update your IACRA records quickly, or as Mike pointed out it will cause a host of problems. And make sure your driver's license name matches your birth certificate, matches your passport, and matched IACRA.

Have that FTN tattooed somewhere on your body.

Take your social security card or your most recent social security statement and make sure the name in iacra is the same, including order of middle name, abbreviations.
