It wouldn't have taken so long for me to discover OxiClean. It cleans everything, whitens whites, and brightens colors, with no bleach odor.

One scoop of OxiClean dissolved in hot water and used in an upholstery cleaning machine even gets the fart smell out of furniture seats. It's amazing! Nothing else gets the fart smell out of seats, but OxiClean does. If I'd known that years ago, I might have kept some of my old cars a few years longer. Many a car I've gotten rid of for no reason other than the lingering fart odor, especially from the driver's seat.

I bet it would work just as well in an airplane seat, too! Who knows how much value getting rid of fart odor could add to an older plane?

I should have listened to you, Billy. I'll bet even heaven is a much cleaner place now that you're there.

I bet it won't get rid of cigarette smoke. The one smell that's nearly impossible to clear up. One nasty habit :incazzato:

Oxiclean is good stuff. With hot water and a little patience it will clean tile or linoleum better than anything in the world.

One of my pet peeves. When I detailed cars in college, the smokers would all complain about the smell and/or the nasty yellow film on the windows. We would scrub and scrub that car (ever want to see something gross, spray an all-purpose cleaner on a long-time smoker's dash and watch the nasty stuff that washes off...). We'd turn their car over to them after they paid, and what's the first thing they do after starting her up? Yep, light a cig...

Why didn't you just charge them more? They're paying you to clean up their mess, if they make a bigger mess than average... they're not paying you for your opinion of how they made the mess, generally.

I heard that! It defeats the whole purpose. Always makes me sick when I see someone smoking in a new $50k vehicle. It gets into upholstery, walls and carpet of houses and permeates your skin. Always thought it's funny when you're out looking at used cars and the salesman says "we can get the smoke smell out of it" no you can't. A smell that can never be totally cleaned out.

Agreed. Unfortunately it wasn't my shop or I would have. My boss could have sold ketchup popsicles to a guy in a white suit, but couldn't run a business to save his fanny. He was convinced that if you knew a guy who once talked to a guy who ...., you got the good buddy discount. Not surprisingly he went out of business.

There's a similar product made for outdoor use called Corte Clean. I use is for cleaning composite decking, but it works great on concrete and brick as well, It's especially good where you don't want to pressure wash.

Tried Oxyclean on my work clothes several years ago. The stuff gave me hives and took three washings to get it all out. Nasty crap.

funny explanation for getting the crabs I've ever heard ;)

What fun would that be? Nothing like a good blow out the arse in the morning, well, besides sex.

Yeah, but not on the fine leather seats of a mans vehicle or plane, wife's pillow, in a safe place full of crying liberals, heck maybe even next to your dog, but not in your ride! gotta keep it civilized.

So if I eat an ounce or two a day will it work on my foot and breath odor or is it only good for the lower digestive tract?

If the fart odor lingers that long I think these are probably warranted.

probably need a washing machine with a better rinse cycle

probably need a washing machine with a better rinse cycle

About a year ago I got into the peculiar habit of washing laundry using the "soak" cycle, which spins at the end but doesn't rinse; and then washing it again using the same cycle with cold water, but without detergent, as the rinse.

The reason was that the timer on the machine was starting to fail and intermittently wouldn't complete the regular wash cycle, so I just worked around it until I could find the replacement part or (GASP) convince my tightwad self to buy a new washing machine. But I found that doing it that way did a lot better job at both washing and rinsing than the regular wash cycle ever did, so I just kept doing it that way.

My washing machine is 20+ years old, and I've lost track of how many times I've taken it apart to fix it. Most of the repairs have cost me $10.00 or less in parts. But it's getting to the point that the parts are getting hard to find. I may have to take the safety wire off my wallet and buy a new one at some point, maybe as soon as 10 or 20 years from now.

My wife was impressed when I hung the block and tackle from the basement ceiling to fix our washing machine. :D

Imagine what you'd see if you sprayed some cleaner down their throat.

I don't care who you are...this is funny. Gas-X t eliminate the need for Oxiclean.

I get amused when I turn on my Dish Network program guide and keep seeing the informercial called "Do you poop enough?"

Oxiclean seems to be the stuff that works best for cleaning that micro-texture in porcelain bath tubs. Sprinkle a bunch on, hit with a wet brush to make a paste and spread it around, let it sit, come back with a brush after a while and voila!

Bar Keepers Friend is good for that, too.
