If selling your airplane makes that much of a difference, I wouldn’t do it. I retired early almost 3 years ago. I always preached retirement has to be a planned event and mine wasn’t. I had reached the point of complete burn-out and simply didn’t like was I was doing and who I was doing it for. Fortunately I had done a lot of planning prior to that time so it has worked out. But if you will be scratching to get by, early retirement will be no fun. I don’t know your age, circumstances, background, skills and training, but I do know that getting new full time employment at 55+ is difficult for most, particularly after the last recession. So, turn your negative energy into positive and develop an exit strategy that work for you. Maybe it takes a year or 2 to execute but at least you know what direction to march.
