I got a jerb

Congratulations! Any new jobs in this economy are well earned, especially for something you love.

Good deal David. Shame you can't wear your flip flops flying up there. Have fun Be safe.

Congrats!!

Now you'll have the chance to add words like "tundra tires", "ski plane", and "balked landing because of moose on runway" to your logbook!

If you start a blog, make sure to let us know, where to find it.

I've thought about starting one for awhile now, I guess this would be a pretty good reason to finally do it.

I know I'm out of touch with current cultural references when I have to look up words like "jerb":

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jerb&defid=1172159

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jerberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jerberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jerberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Sounds like a lot of fun, David! Enjoy your time flying up there!

You should write a blog so I have something to read while at work.

Insert jealous remark here. Congrats David that sounds amazing. I'll jump on the bandwagon encouraging you to write and post about you expereince often. I'll certainly read them!

Have fun. But don't forget to finish that degree.

BTW, back in the late 1970s there was a place in Anchorage called PJ's. Be carefull. :D

What are your times/ratings if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, but how many of those were under the appropriate adult supervision?

:)

You haven't said yet... Where in Alaska will you be based?

Do they have internet in Juneau?

Yeah, but they have to fly it in. They can't deliver it on a truck.

Sorry to read on another thread that the jerb offer appears to have been retracted.

They took yer jerb.

There will be other opportunities.

I didn't read it anywhere... What happened to the jerb?
