How to ship something valuable?

FYI there are two parts to FedEx.

FedEx Express is the original FedEx and typically gives good service. The drivers are typically FedEx employees.

FedEx Ground is the former RPS. They have a number of issues. Drivers are contracted.

My local FedEx Ground typically doesn't even bring packages to the house, they lean them against the detached garage. I may or may not see them for days.

I used My Baggage to ship my stuff to Spain, and didn't faced any issues. They delivered on time, and were cheaper compared to other providers.

+1 on USPS losing packages. I used to have great experiences with USPS. However over the last year or so, delivering to the same address, they have managed to be late countless times, and have outright lost a couple packages with no explanation. They've also manged to reroute said packages, ex: going to my local distribution center and instead of getting on a truck to my post office, they put it on a plane half way across the country and then I wait an additional week to get said package.

My folks tried to send me a package (manila envelope of sewing patterns) a few months back, and it went to Puerto Rico on it's way from Texas to the Jacksonville, FL distribution center...

Haven’t been following but I had something EXTREMELY important shipped by Walmart. Got an email that it was delivered yesterday. It was absolutely NOT delivered yesterday. Now they say ‘wait two days and it might show up’. That’s awesome Walmart, thanks a lot.

Many years ago I lived in Nacogdoches, TX. It was not unusual for items shipped USPS from Houston to go to Natchitoches, MS, and even Natchez, MS before making it to Nacogdoches.
