How Does a Sensorless AOA Indicator Work?

Haven’t flown behind one, but I fly behind a one with a probe and can’t wrap my head around their concept. But that could be just me

What is described in the image @asicer posted is only valid in wings-level unaccelerated flight, it's useless in turns, so hopefully there's more to it than what they wrote. When I had looked into some of these sensorless concepts in the past they were not actually sensorless, they made use of air data from existing sources, sometimes with additional ports on the same mast, and used differential pressure like what has been discussed recently in other threads.

Nauga,
who wishes for a world where AOA is not some vague mystery
