What's in a name anyways?
I've been swinging and missing, trying to find an avionics shop in the Houston metro area that'll install a Trio autopilot. At this point, does anyone know of a shop in Texas or West Louisiana that does these? I've contacted shops that were listed as installers, and the few that have gotten back to me, said they aren't installing them anymore. My rolodex came up short!

Jesse can def do it8).

if you prefer staying closer, you can try CAM avionics at kfws
or Brian.Broderhausen@kdwh or Brian.Isabell@kaxh

Cessna 182L with Aspen Pro Max 1000 and GRN650xi. Oh, and a really horrible stec-30 that needs to die a fiery death.

I checked in at AXH; we talked a little back and forth, but died off and I hadn't heard from him in a month.

I prefer the modes on the TruTrak better than the Trio. It's also a little more standard to install. The Trio is a good auto pilot, but I like the Aerocruze more, both to fly and to install.

I would confirm the Aspen will work with the Aerocruze. I have a stray memory from a conversation with Aspen rep that the Aerocruze no longer communicates with Aspen. Possibly misremembering, but wouldn't hurt to ask the question before locking in to either, though I know Aspen/Trio works.

i've had the aerocruze in my mooney for about 3mos now, thing is AWESOME. flies like it's on rails, switching between gpss and heading bug mode will handle just about everything. manual trim ever now and again isn't horrible at all. I have zero regrets

Highly opinionated on this, but I would avoid anything, owned by Bendix King/Honeywell, like the plague ;).

182 with an Aspen E5, Garmin 530w and Aerocruze. No problems for three years.
