Helicopter lands in Brooklyn neighborhood

[mr_happyland]

I don’t know much about helicopter regs. Obviously this was unusual, but was it actually illegal? Supposedly he had permission from the lot owner…

It’s NYC. Everything is illegal.

I think that a police helicopter chasing another helicopter in the air may indeed be illegal.

[Lachlan]

Of course it’s legal. That’s why the cops were chasing them.

New York law prohibits helicopters from landing on city streets or vacant lots.

Copy and pasted from another article so apparently there's an ordinance against it.

but was it actually illegal?

According to other info, the helicopter was talking to JFK and "had permission" to be there. Whether its all official who knows. But you know how them Robbie drivers can be.

That's why NYPD needs the .50cal machine guns they tried to buy a few years ago.

And I am sure the 'Federal Aviation Association' will be right on top of enforcing a city ordinance.
