I think all holidays would be better with the addition of pyrotechnics. :)

Roger that! This is my 4th year not shooting, after a 20 year run with a very cool one-day-a-year job as a crew chief for a commercial pyrotechnics company. I shot municipal July 4 shows around the state. I do miss it, but it was a LOT of hard physical labor on what was often one of the hottest days of the year, so I kinda aged out and turned the crew over to my top apprentice. I'm enjoying just spectating at the fireworks shows now.
 
My town has a free-for-all, launch what you brung firework event at the community park. Anything goes. There are a lot of people who spend a lot of money on very impressive fireworks. It's non stop carnage for hours. Fire department is standing by. Good times, I'm there now!
 
It is not a good celebration without at least one evacuation...

Lol that video never gets old. Lighting the firework in the grass instead of in the street, and keeping your entire cache of fireworks right behind the minivan 10ft away. You can't make this stuff up.
