I think I would like to buy one as a back-up for not having a usable radio. It would rarely get used. AOPA has an small statement on the PJ2 that plugs into your headset at 199 dollars.


Any suggestions?
 
All the popular models are just fine. If I were in the market for one today, I'd get that Sporty's PJ2, just because of the headset interface.
 
Color me dense, but "comes with a double a tray is that is your jam" ?
 
I speak jive... it takes AA batteries.

I have a YAETSU 230 and am happy. Bought it for the size, it fit perfectly into a side pocket on my flight bag. They are up to the 270 now which fixed a couple complaints I had about the 230.
